The Expedition

Hello,

In, 1517 I was ordered to go on an expedition but it was soon cancelled because of a long string of thunderstorms. Our ships would not handle the winds that we would have been taking on.

Now it is 1519, and I am just about to head out to Mexico from Cuba. I am going to bring lots of men and horses for this conquest to Mexico. I am sending a fleet of 11 Spanish galleons, we are bringing 600 sailors and soldiers, as well as 16 horses the first of the species to walk the New World. We will be sailing along the eastern gulf coast of Mexico and dropping anchor at Yucatán.

I am only now waiting for the permission to leave. I sent out a messanger to get the note that says I can leave. All the men are ready to leave the horses are on deck. I can’t wait to see what happens in this new place… … … The permission has just been granted!! Well I’ll be off then.

  1. Niltze!

This is Namacuix, again. I’m sorry that your expedition was cancelled. Why did it take to years to re-plan the expedition? Wait a minute…you’re coming here? I hope you’re not going to do what I think you’re going to do! Actually, never mind that I said that. I feel like we have grown to be close friends, and I trust that you wouldn’t do that sort of thing to me and my people.

For your expedition, why do you need to bring so many things? I mean, 600 people is a lot of people. Why do you need to bring animals here too? Are they going to be used for transportation? All of us in Tenochtitlan just walk to get where we need to go.

I think that’s about it. Good luck on your expedition!

  2. Hi this is Hernán. I took so long to re-plan the expedition because the governmaent thought that we weren’ ready yet, but oh well we still got to go anyways thats all that maders. No I couldn’t possibly do what you are thinking, that would be crazy besides, we are best buds.

We have are own reasons that we need to bring all of our men and horses. The horses will be used for some transportation, most of it will just be by foot.

    Thanks. Nice talking to you.
